Curriculum Design for Communicative Language Teaching

This page features textbooks developed by students in the Curriculum Design for Communicative Language Teaching seminar at the Faculty of Foreign Language Studies, Kansai University, under my guidance. Each year, seminar participants collaborate to create a unique textbook that serves as a practical and engaging resource for language learners.

So far, our seminar has produced the following textbooks:

  • Exploring Everyday Japanese Idioms (2026) – A Japanese Idioms Communication Textbook

A textbook designed for intermediate to advanced learners of Japanese, focusing on the

natural use of idioms through real-life contexts and communication

  • Beyond Borders (2025) – An English Study Abroad Preparation Guide

A textbook designed to help Japanese university students develop the linguistic and cultural         skills needed for studying abroad

  • Journey to English (2024) – An Intermediate EFL Communication Textbook
A textbook designed for intermediate English learners, focusing on communicative language learning and practical conversation skills

These textbooks are freely available to the public and aim to support learners through structured activities and real-world applications. You can download them below.
